The atelier is a physical place, not brochure language: a workroom in Monte San Giusto, in the province of Macerata, Italy. Here I pour the plaster of your impression, sculpt the grill digitally on the model of your arch and, when the piece comes back raw from the dental-alloy print, the long part begins: files, burs, polishing compounds, checks tooth by tooth. No stage is decided by somebody else. This is an Italian grillz workshop, not a reseller rebranding ready-made pieces — and what leaves here is removable dental jewellery, made-to-measure pieces, not medical devices or prosthetics.

Where: Monte San Giusto, Le Marche
Le Marche is a region of hands: footwear, leather goods, musical instruments, goldsmithing. Here the craft is learned by watching someone who has been doing it for thirty years, not from a video. The atelier is in Monte San Giusto, province of Macerata, and I am the one working in it: when you message on WhatsApp I answer, when a piece is polished it is my hand.
There is no shop window on the street, and none is needed: the service is built to work remotely, across Italy and beyond. The impression kit reaches your home, the cast comes back here, the finished piece goes out. People nearby can drop by, but that is the exception, not the rule.

The bench: what happens in here
A grill looks like a small, simple object. It isn’t: between the cast and the finished piece there are stages that forgive nothing, where a tenth of a millimetre is both seen and felt. These are the stages, in the order they happen.

The plaster
The impression that reaches me becomes a hand-poured plaster model: the exact copy of your arch. Everything else rests on this, so if the model is mediocre the piece will be too.

The scan
The model goes through a professional 3D scan: your arch becomes a file accurate to a tenth of a millimetre, which can be worked on without wearing out the plaster.

The digital sculpt
On your model I sculpt the grill tooth by tooth: thicknesses, gum line, the way the piece hugs the tooth. It is the same gesture as a goldsmith on wax, with a different tool — and it takes hours, not minutes.

The dental-alloy print
The file becomes metal: cobalt-chrome alloy certified to ISO 22674, printed at a certified Italian centre. It comes back raw, matt, still rough. From here on it is all hand work.

Refining, stones and polishing
Files, burs and abrasive paper to remove the print marks and adjust thicknesses; then progressive compounds up to a mirror. If there are settings, the stones go in now. If the piece is Premium, after the mirror it leaves for the gold-effect PVD treatment and comes back here for the final check.
That is why the lead time is 1-2 weeks and not 24 hours: the stages that could be sped up I have already sped up, the ones left are the hands.

What comes into the atelier: the materials
Not everything gets in here. The metal every piece is born in, Essential or Premium, is cobalt-chrome dental alloy certified to ISO 22674 — the same family of alloys Italian dental labs use for custom frameworks. On request I also work with 316L steel and Grade 5 titanium.
- Cobalt-chrome dental alloy ISO 22674
- Hard, stable, corrosion-resistant: it doesn’t rust and doesn’t blacken the way silver does. It is the base of every piece that leaves here, and I tell you its designation before you even ask.
- 24Kt gold-effect PVD coating
- The gold colour of the Premium: a layer of titanium nitride deposited in a vacuum chamber over the alloy. It is not solid gold and I don’t call it that, because it isn’t.
- Hand-set cubic zirconia
- I set the stones myself, one setting at a time, under the loupe. It is the stage that stretches the timeline most, and also the one where you can immediately see who was in a hurry.
- REACH compliance
- All the materials I use comply with the nickel-release limits of the REACH regulation, the ones written for items that sit against the skin.
What does not come in here: brass, zamak, thin electroplating and alloys with no designation. Those are the materials of cheap grillz, and in the mouth they behave accordingly.

Quality control: when a piece leaves
A piece leaves the atelier once it passes three checks, and not before.
- The fit on the model
- The grill goes back onto your plaster cast and has to sit without forcing, tooth by tooth. If it needs pressure to go on, it isn’t finished: back to the bench.
- The finish by touch and under the loupe
- Edges, inner surface, polish: they are checked by looking and touching, not by glancing from a distance. Burrs and porosity are felt with a fingertip before they are even seen.
- The photo before shipping
- I photograph the finished piece and send it to you before it leaves. It is the last check, and you get to make it too.
If after all that the fit at home still isn’t right, the free refit within 30 days stands: the fit guarantee is written down, with public terms, alongside all the other conditions.

How this atelier started
Grillz Marche was born in 2024 out of two things meeting: goldsmithing — the pleasure of building a piece of jewellery with your hands — and hip-hop culture, where grillz come from. The starting question was simple: why couldn’t I find grillz made properly in Italy, made to measure and with declared materials? I couldn’t, so I decided to learn how to make them.
It took months of study and trial: alloys, modelling on the cast, 3D sculpting, refining, polishing, stone setting. Hours spent learning from people who have worked metal all their lives, here in Le Marche. The first grill that came out right from my hands was the proof the road was the right one. If the craft intrigues you: it is far harder than it looks from outside, but it can be learned — as long as you put in the years, not the weekend.

Can I come and see the atelier?+
If you are nearby we can talk and arrange something, but there are no shop hours: this is a place of work. The normal way of working together stays remote, with photos and updates at every stage.
Are the grillz really made in Italy?+
Yes, the chain is Italian. Plaster, scanning, sculpting, refining, polishing and stone setting I do here in Monte San Giusto; the dental-alloy print and the PVD treatment go through certified Italian centres. No piece arrives ready-made from abroad to be rebranded.
Who works in the atelier?+
I do. Grillz Marche is an artisan atelier, not a chain: I answer the messages, I sculpt and I polish. It is also why the lead times I give you are the real ones and not e-commerce promises.
What is the difference between an atelier and a grillz reseller?+
A reseller buys finished pieces and sells them on, often without knowing what alloy they are. An atelier builds them: it starts from your cast, chooses the material, works it and answers for it. The difference shows in the price, but above all in the fit and in what they can tell you about the metal.
What materials do you work with in the atelier?+
Cobalt-chrome dental alloy certified to ISO 22674 as standard, 316L steel and Grade 5 titanium on request, and a titanium-nitride PVD coating for the gold effect. Cubic zirconia for the stones. No brass, no zamak, no thin plating.
How long does it take to make a grill?+
On average 1-2 weeks from the confirmed impression to shipping, plus the time you take over the cast. The digital sculpt and the hand finishing are the long stages, and they cannot be compressed without losing quality.
