Made to measure isn’t a shop-window adjective: it’s the cast of your teeth. Every grill that leaves here starts from an impression of your own arch, gets sculpted digitally on that model tooth by tooth and is finished by hand until it fits the way it should. A ready-made one-size grill starts instead from an average shape that isn’t yours, and is adapted by pressure with a DIY paste. Below you’ll find what actually changes, the full journey from impression to fit, the fit guarantee written in black and white, and what it costs: from €100 per tooth, impression kit at home €25. And let me say it up front: I make removable dental jewellery, made-to-measure pieces, not medical devices or prosthetics.

What "made to measure" actually means
A tooth is not a cylinder. It has its own curve, a thickness that changes from one point to the next, a gum line that drops differently from the tooth right beside it. Two arches resemble each other no more than two fingerprints do: that’s why one size cannot truly fit. There is no average mouth to cut it from.
- The hold
- A grill stays on because it hugs the tooth in the right places, not because it squeezes. On your own cast the thickness is decided millimetre by millimetre: the piece stays up on its own, with no glue and no biting it into place.
- The comfort
- If the inner edge ends where it shouldn’t, you feel it all day. A piece sculpted on your anatomy disappears in the mouth: you remember it when you look in the mirror.
- The gum line
- It’s the detail that separates a grill made properly from one that is "almost" right. On the cast I follow it tooth by tooth, so the piece ends where your enamel ends and not a millimetre further.
- The design
- Open face, fangs, textures, stone settings: every treatment has to be designed on the surface you actually have. On a standard shape the drawing distorts; on your model it sits exactly where you imagined it.
In one line: made to measure doesn’t mean "prettier", it means that piece works on you and on nobody else. It’s also why a custom grill isn’t lent out and isn’t resold: it’s yours like a signature.

Made to measure or one size: the honest comparison
Online, ready-made grillz cost €20-30 and the temptation makes sense. It is still worth knowing what you are buying, because the difference isn’t only the price. I don’t name sellers: I talk about product categories, which is what you actually need when you compare.
- Where the shape comes from
- One size: from an average mould, identical for thousands of people. Made to measure: from the cast of your arch, poured in plaster and scanned to a tenth of a millimetre.
- How it adapts
- One size: you bite it into a thermoplastic paste until it deforms enough to stay in place. Made to measure: nothing adapts, because it already is your shape.
- The metal
- One size: almost always brass or zamak with a thin plating on top, often without even a declared designation. Made to measure from me: cobalt-chrome dental alloy certified to ISO 22674, and a PVD coating for the gold effect.
- How long the excitement lasts
- A piece that fits badly comes off after half an hour and ends up in a drawer. A piece that fits, you wear: that is the whole difference between spending little and throwing money away.
The practical advice I give anyone undecided: instead of a ready-made arch, start with a single made-to-measure tooth, from €100. You spend a bit more than a marketplace set, but it is genuinely yours — and if you like it, you build the arch one piece at a time.

From impression to fit: the journey
Made to measure is a journey, not a "buy now" button. It is five steps and we do them together: nothing moves without my OK on the impression.

The quote
You pick teeth, arch, finish and treatments in the configurator: you see the price as you build it, without having to message anyone. Online you only pay for the impression kit, if you need one; the balance we settle in chat once the design is confirmed.
- 02
The kit at home
The box arrives in 2-4 days with trays, pre-dosed pastes and illustrated instructions. There is material for two full attempts: if the first one doesn’t come out, you’ve lost nothing.

The photo check
Before sending anything back you message me photos of the impression on WhatsApp and wait for my answer. Always, even if it looks perfect to you. If it isn’t right we redo it straight away: the silicone holds one to two weeks of postal travel, so there is no rush.

The sculpt on your model
From the impression I get the plaster model, scan it and sculpt the grill digitally on top of it, tooth by tooth. Thicknesses, edges and design are decided here: this is the stage that decides how it will sit in your mouth.

Finishing and fit
The piece comes back from the dental-alloy print raw and matt: from there on it is all hand work. Refining, checking tooth by tooth on your cast, mirror polishing and, on the Premium, the gold-effect PVD coating. It leaves when it fits the way it should, not before.
Average timing: 1-2 weeks from the confirmed impression to shipping, with email updates at every stage and a photo of the finished piece before it leaves.

The fit guarantee: written, not promised
Made to measure also means someone takes responsibility for the fit. Mine is written and public: if the grill doesn’t sit the way it should, the refit is free if you tell me within 30 days of receiving it. You send the piece back with a new impression, I adjust it and send it back to you, with shipping at my expense.
- Free refit within 30 days
- This is the fit guarantee proper: it is about how the piece sits, not about defects. It also covers the case where the impression came out slightly imprecise — it happens, and I don’t make you pay for it.
- Remake if the piece is faulty or different
- Porosity, non-conforming finish, wrong details, a piece different from the one ordered: it gets remade, full stop.
- Two-year legal warranty
- The one the law gives you as a consumer (articles 128-135 of the Italian Consumer Code), which no seller can reduce or exclude. My guarantees are added to it, they never replace it.
- Shipping on me in covered cases
- If the problem comes from my work, I don’t ask you to pay to fix it. Return and reshipping are on me.
Why I write it instead of saying it: a promise in a chat disappears with the chat, a published condition stays and can be compared. Before ordering from anyone — me included — look for where the terms of the fit are written down. If you can’t find them anywhere, you already have your answer.

What a made-to-measure grill costs
The price list is public and you read it before you order, not after. It starts from €100 per tooth for the Essential (dental alloy polished to a mirror) and from €135 per tooth for the Premium (same alloy, 24Kt gold-effect PVD coating). An 8-tooth arch is €600 Essential and €750 Premium.
Custom treatments — open face, textures, fangs, stone settings — are added separately, each with its own price written in the configurator. The only thing you pay online is the impression kit, if you need one (€25): the balance for the grill we settle in chat once the design is confirmed. No surprise quotes, no "today only" offers.

What does made-to-measure grillz mean?+

Do I need to see a dentist for the impression?+
No, it isn’t compulsory. You can do it at home with the kit I ship you (€25), following the illustrated instructions: before sending it back you message me photos on WhatsApp and wait for my OK, so a bad impression never travels. If you prefer, you can take the kit to your own dentist, or send me an impression you already have: that works too.
How long does a made-to-measure grill take?+
On average 1-2 weeks from the confirmed impression to shipping. The kit arrives in 2-4 days and the time you take over the cast is up to you: the silicone holds one to two weeks of postal travel, so there is no rush at all.
What if it doesn’t fit when it arrives?+
If it doesn’t sit the way it should, the refit is free if you tell me within 30 days of receiving it: you send the piece back with a new impression, I adjust it and reship it at my expense. If instead the problem is a manufacturing defect, you are covered by the two-year legal warranty, which applies by law and adds to mine.

Can I reuse the same impression for a second piece?+
Yes, and it is one of the real advantages of made to measure: once the model of your arch exists, later pieces start from there. I keep impressions and models for the warranty period and then they are destroyed, as written in the privacy policy.
Does a made-to-measure grill damage your teeth?+
It is removable jewellery: you wear it for the occasion and take it out to eat and sleep. Used that way, made to measure is precisely what reduces pressure points, because it doesn’t need to squeeze to stay on. That said, I make jewellery, not medicine: for any doubt about your oral health your dentist is the reference.
