Openwork grillz a design made of solids and voids.
Updated 5 October 2026 · pieces and prices are the ones in the shop
An openwork grill has openings inside the design: the metal turns into ribs, wings, cut-out stars, and where it stops you see the tooth. Compared with a solid piece it is lighter to look at and richer in detail. The shop has 9 openwork pieces, from €265.
01
Who openwork is for, and why it is sculpting work
It is for anyone who wants an elaborate design without a solid block of metal in front of the teeth: tribals, gothic crosses, spiked suns, irregular openings that look like molten metal. It is the style closest to a jewel meant to be looked at up close.
Every opening is drawn on the model of your impression and then finished by hand, because in the thin spots thickness matters: the voids are born with the design, they are not cut afterwards. Mirror finish in chrome-cobalt or gold-effect PVD, from 2 teeth up. A piece can be openwork and open face at the same time, which is why some of them appear on both pages.

The shop pieces in this style
Price for the whole piece, made on a cast of your teeth. The choices on the product page, like the finish or the number of teeth, can change it: you see it before you order.
What is the difference between openwork and open face?+
Open face is a frame: the metal makes the edge of the tooth and the centre is open. Openwork has openings inside the design, wherever the motif needs them. The two can live in the same piece.
Is an openwork grill cleaned differently?+
The routine is the same: lukewarm water, mild soap, a soft brush and a dry cloth. Take your time with the brush inside the openings, and never use toothpicks or metal objects: they scratch the finish.
